How to remove scratches from ceramic stove top? Step by step

How to remove scratches from ceramic stove top

In this context, we will test six different ways to know how to remove scratches from the ceramic stovetop. And yeah, basically, see which one is best.

You’re probably wondering how I managed to make all these scratches. So what I was doing, I was cooking something in a pan. I think some of it dribbled off the side, went underneath the pan, burn and turned like carbon.

Six effective method to remove scratches from ceramic stovetop

Then, as I moved the pan back and forth, tossing it around and stuffing, it scratched up the ceramic. I didn’t realize until I had taken the pan off. So yeah, that’s why I thought I created this content to show you how to remove scratches from the ceramic stovetop.

Baking soda and water

vinegar and water method

So the first method I’m going to use is baking soda and water. I read up on this online. It says that you need to mix the baking soda and water. Create a paste and leave it on for a little while, and then scrub it off. It should remove the scratches. So I’m going to try that now.

So as you saw, I removed the excess baking soda water mix and scrubbed it a little bit. But to be honest, there’s not much of a change. I think you’d have some slight surface scratches, but not much. So ethics works. Read more, how to clean ceramic stove top?

Magic eraser method

Now second, I’m going to use a magic eraser, also known as a melamine sponge. I’m only using one half the hop. So that half stays original. After scrubbing, you’ll see the results. Not much of a change, to be honest.

Amusing Cif method

Amusing method

Number three is amusing. Cif to the stuff you get from the supermarket to clean your bathroom because slight, very slightly abrasive. So put it on again, just half the right side, scrubbed it off. And yeah, not much of a change still, but it looks shiny. Also read, best ceramic cooktop cleaner.

Aluminum foil method

And the fourth method is the tin foil for elements. I can’t remember where I read about this, but I think it was online, but you rub the aluminum foil over the ceramic. But as you can see, it doesn’t work very well. You create scratches. Check here, tricks to clean glass stovetop.

Baking soda and vinegar method

Okay, so the fifth method is baking soda and vinegar. So I’ve already laid the baking soda on the right half and just poured over some white vinegar. When you do that, it starts to react. So hopefully, this does something. It’s going to let this settle for about half an hour.

Now, start wiping or scrubbing the baking soda and vinegar mix off, and we’ll see if it makes a difference. So I’ve scrubbed it off, and not much of a difference is a little bit clearer, but not much.

Polishing method

Okay, so the sixth and final method. Which you are using is probably the most expensive one, but even still, it doesn’t cost that much. It’s the Polish polishing method. So what I’m doing here, I’ve put some drops of Polish down. Use a polishing pad attached to a drill to polish. I’m just using what I had laying around the home, which is a car polish, but let’s look at the results.

Wipe it away smoothly as well. Wow, yeah, as you’ll see, there is a significant difference. You can tell on the right-hand side that it’s so much clearer than it was before. The amount of effort put in is hardly anything. So I’m happy. So what I’m going to do now is I’m going to do the whole stovetop.

So I’ve polished it out already, and I’m just going to clean it all off. So you can use a regular car Polish or if there’s a specific Polish for glass, use that. If you have the deepest scratch, it will still be there. But I did do this another time, I think maybe twice. It will be altogether removed. So, use the polish two or three times for deep scratches.

Final word

So I definitely would say the Polish method is the best. I’ve dropped some comparison pictures from before and after. To show you how much of a difference with the polishing method. Okay, so please let me know if you liked removing scratches from ceramic stovetop content.

  1. Thank you so much for sharing this information. I had some scratches on my ceramic cooktop from using the wrong type of blade scraper, and the car polish tip has worked perfectly !
